Chickens would be much more viable if they allowed us to hatch eggs and sell/eat chicken meat.
About the field fertility. I think a good way to combat that is to invest heavily in sheep, like 50-100 or more and have them raise the fertility, or just use a tech point for fertilizer. Love the squid layout! I think you're one of the best at showcasing this game, and farthest frontier. Keep it coming!
This is rich deposit dependent but on this particular map, you invest into charcoal and deep mining. Clay and Iron never run out, so you can focus on selling roof tiles and producing weapons. Watch the money roll in.

when i put logging area in same place, my animals moved just after i found a perfect map to use,
buy the trade routes you want early, as they will be much cheaper, even more so than later on with skill points, you'll save a fortune and can use the skill points elsewhere. BARLEY, I find works, to plant it manually early MAR, harvest it (early)late AUG, before main SEPT wheat harvest
Sawpits workers doesn't cut down trees, they use logs already cut. :)
Man, I built a house that ended up in the backyard, but when I built the veggie garden the game crashed every time. I see now I was unlucky.
Berries - is it worth, if your berries are not rich, taking the development point that doubles the yield?
It doubles the max capacity of the berry not the yield - you get 800 regardless - but you will need the point if it’s not rich to get the 80 proc
I’m trying the squid out at the moment. Really like it. It’s easy to split the map into areas for industry, farming, apples, and veg. I feel more in control but also have room to expand. And the ‘corpse pit’ measurement has changed my life. Thank you.
Have you encountered the bug where no more mercenaries are available for hire, or only like 1 recurrent group. Have you found a way to avoid this?

I saw on another UA-cam that the archers are better at a distance but closer than specified, TC, back from the others still, but closer than specified. Try it and see if that makes a difference in their effectiveness. Let me know, I watch all your videos.
I dont know if is a bug or i am doing something wrong, the families dont move the veggies to market or granary. They are always complaining their house is full of veggies.... I build two granaries and still food is not being moved around... any idea what i am doing wrong?

I don't know if it was intentional, but apparently the awkwardness of turning an ox around was exactly why medieval farms tended towards that exact same long-and-thin shape you mentiom here

by collecting them in growing season with lots of workers

3 forager huts at 2 workers is ideal - rich and no perk. Or a normal with perk

Aren't apples still bugged? Like the granary doesn't pick them up from the plots at all.
you have to wait till the pantry is 90% full to be emptied - so apples have always”worked”. The beta patch fixes those issues completely.
@@TacticatGaming Apple Orchards being viable now is probably the best update so far now.

my main issue is that I'll have made sure all my food stalls are owned by the granary workers. However even when there's like 300+ of every food item, half my food stalls will be empty. Literally their entire job is to run a stall and they can't even haul the berries across the street?
Learned that long burgage inefficiency the hard way after starving a village to death. Great video, love it.
Love the information you are sharing with the community. I was using Log Camps as my measurement unit but switched to Corpse Pits yesterday with the Perfect City Road Layout. I read a comment about assigning Veggie Families to Farms and had some success. And my army got stuck in the veggie farm roads which could be useful for designing a Rimworld style killzone 😂
